Orzo With Cream And Hot Orange Tomato Sauce.....Wow !
There are some very nice quick and easy dishes you can make when alone at home and you want to prop your feet up, eat and watch TV!!
It is important though to have your pantry, fridge, and freezer full always ready to be please.
Today I would like to share with you an interesting tomato sauce recipe. I know some of you do not like tomato sauce but this may change your mind....
You will need:
Serves 4 - 5
- 500 gms of rice pasta (Orzo). It is pasta made from semolina similar to all other pasta only this looks like huge rice as per photo.
- 250 gms of grated tomato with juice.
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste.
- 1 Juicy orange pressed including pulp.
- Olive oil.
- 2 cloves garlic crushed and minced.
- 1 whole Chili finely sliced.
- 1 cup of fresh cream.
- Lots of freshly grated parmezan cheese.
Method:
- Boil the pasta as previously described in my recipes. It will soon be under my how to's tab.
- While waiting for the water to boil, and the pasta to cook, put enough olive oil in the bottom of a small saucepan and heat together with the garlic and the hot chili. When you get that fantastic aroma of garlic and chili, add a roast beef cube to disolve.
- Add the grated tomato with its juice, tomato paste, stir to mix the lot.
- Add the orange juice and the pulp. Stir a few times and turn off the heat. The sauce is ready.(There is no need to add salt to the sauce since you added the roast beef cube).
- By that time the pasta is ready, strain, melt a knob of butter in the pot, add the pasta stir, then add the fresh creame and stir to unify.
To serve: add the pasta on the plate, put some sauce in the centre and sprinkle around it parmezan cheese.
This I am sure you will enjoy,
Bon Appétit,
Stelio
