Cilantro Rice.....different!
Discovering Cilantro opened my horizons to Eastern cuisine which to me is mysterious, and arousing. Today I will share with you a simple and pretty much straight forward recipe.
You will need:
Serves 6 as a side dish.
- 3 cups of any kind of rice even basmati.
- 1 bunch of Cilantro very thinly cut.
- 4 1/2 cups of water.
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Boil the 4 1/2 cups of water and add salt to taste.
- Add rice and cilantro, stir and mix, cover, reduce heat to minimum.
- Simmer for 20 minutes, turn off heat, introduce a kitchen towel between the cover and the sauce pan until the rice is served.
N.B. When cooking any kind of rice, it is recommended to always introduce a kitchen towel under the cover when the rice is cooked to absorb any extra vapor present. This is to prevent the rice from over cooking and sticking to each other.
Cheap, and very aromatic.
